Sevenoaks Tunnel Drainage

Started:December 2015
Client:BAM Nuttall
Location:Sevenoaks, Kent
Project Overview

BAM Nuttall were the successful principal contractor to be awarded this project to improve the track drainage within the 2 mile stretch of Sevenoaks Tunnel. The current drainage previously installed within the tunnel confines is failing, which in turn is causing major problems with the line speed throughout this part of the South Eastern main line. The Sevenoaks tunnel is a vital link for commuters in the route to Hastings from London. The conditions within this tunnel are extremely treacherous, with masses of water ingress from both underfoot and also from above, making the delivery of this project an even greater challenge.

  • Assisting in the delivery of the 6ft track drainage

  • Installation of new catch pits

"A big thank you to you and your lads for all of your efforts over Xmas. In the end we successfully installed 142m of 6ft drainage and handed back on time with no issues – A fantastic achievement given the problems encountered.  Please could you pass on our gratitude to your lads and let them know how impressed we were. I know everyone had to go above and beyond to turn it around and we couldn’t have done it without them. Superb"
