Project Overview

The GNGE project is a programme of essential renewals between Peterborough and Doncaster via Spalding, Lincoln and Gainsborough on the East Coast Main Line. The rail network is being used by unprecedented numbers of trains and the demand for more passenger and freight services continues to rise, particularly on arterial routes such as the East Coast Main Line. The works will improve safety, increase capacity and bring better performance and reliability. It will reduce the need for heavy maintenance over a 15 year period and will increase capacity on the busy East Coast Main Line.

- 41 level Crossing upgrades
- 50 miles of New route works
- Foot Crossings
- Widening of Roads and Tarmacking
- Bridge Structure upgrades
- Anti -Trespass upgrades
- UTX and URX works
- Cable Pulling

Staffing Specifications

Civil Rail Solutions were contacted by main contractor Carillion in April 2012 to provide the Civils based labour for the project. Our staff have been working on the enhancement programme for the bridge structures, Troughing routes, UTXs, URX’s,Driver Walkways, GRP, Level Crossing upgrades and other civils works. Civil Rail Solutions will continue to provide Carillion with the following trades throughout the project:
